Construction of the Justice Center was completed in mid 2000. Our state-of-the-art jail can hold 157 inmates with room for future expansion. Detention Officers and Deputies staff the facility.
The Patrol and Detective Divisions also work from the Justice Center as well as offices in the County Annex, which is located in the southern portion of the county.
Since 1973 the department has grown from a staff of 13 to over 100 employees. Leavenworth County borders the greater Kansas City Metropolitan area. Growth in the county has created a need for expansion in law enforcement services.
