State Fiscal Year 2008 First Judicial District State Block Grant Programs, paid for "or affiliated with" with taxes or public funds granted through the Kansas Juvenile Justice Authority, the Board of Leavenworth County Commission, and the First Judicial District Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board:
There are a number of great resources for youth and families available within Atchison and Leavenworth counties. It is sometimes a challenge to get families matched to best available services and then a challenge for families to know how or where to start. This document is an attempt to help streamline the referral process for all. Most of the agencies can offer many other services once a family makes contact.
This is not an exclusive list of local services, but is a matrix of services primarily funded by juvenile justice block grant funds and affiliated agencies. The listed programs are known to prevent juvenile delinquency through proactive opportunities. Most are free and funded by public monies.
The Leavenworth County Human Services Council provides a central source of information on community social services.
