On Friday, May 4th at 9:00 a.m., the Leavenworth Board of County Commissioners will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the reopening of the CR#5 bridges over Stranger Creek. After a total investment of $3 Million and nearly a year of construction, bridges ST-15 & ST-33 on Tonganoxie Road (County Route #5) over Stranger Creek have been replaced.
This project represented a joint effort between Leavenworth County and the Kansas Department of Transportation utilizing federal transportation funding to replace the bridge ST‐33 over Stranger Creek and the old timber pier ST‐15 overflow bridge both originally constructed in 1938.
